This was one of the first songs I wrote after completing Orgy of the Senses. I remember being very inspired by Jim O’Rourke’s Eureka, though this recording probably doesn’t reflect much of that.
Also, this is a true story! Sarah actually worked with a girl who was born way too early and it was a miracle that she even survived!
When I was planning another Panty Boy album, I sent several of these songs to Jamie, who was living in Vancouver at the time. It was funny because he didn’t really say anything about them for almost a year, and then last week he was all, “Yeah, even I thought you went a little too far on Miracle Baby…”
